Orthophytum

A striking and sculptural bromeliad, Orthophytum is admired for its bold rosette form, metallic tones, and dynamic texture. Native to Brazil, this genus showcases spiky, lance-shaped leaves that often shimmer in hues of silver, bronze, or red—especially under bright light. During its bloom cycle, the center of the rosette glows with vivid color, making it a living work of art.

Unlike many bromeliads, Orthophytum prefers drier conditions and thrives in bright light, even tolerating some direct sun. It’s an easy-care plant that adds a dramatic architectural touch to any collection, whether displayed in pots, mounted, or as part of a xeriscape or terrarium setup.
